What better way to help the EU re-connect with its far-flung citizens, then, than to help people get more involved in EU decision-making? Greek Foreign Minister George Papandreou says the Internet is already helping Greece re-connect with emigrants world-wide. Now it's the EU's turn. "One of the things people say is we have to become more responsive," he says. "The more you create structures of e-democracy, the more this will create a globally thinking citizen and government." He plans a series of online consultations during the Greek presidency of the EU. |
